Symposium on Metal-Mediated Molecular Architectures.

Abstract

The symposium 'Metal-Mediated Molecular Architectures' was held in the Division of Biological Chemistry at the American Chemical Society meeting, August 24, 1994 in Washington, D. C. It was co-chaired by Professor Frances Arnold, Caltech, and Dr. Harold Bright, ONR. The desire was to bring to the Division (and to the general ACS audience) some ideas and faces from other disciplines, with a particular emphasis on multidisciplinary research with potential applications. The goal of this particular symposium thus was to (1) introduce the Biological Chemistry Division to the interdisciplinary research in this emerging area, (2) attract researchers from the other Divisions that will also be represented at the ACS meeting (Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, etc.) and (3) to stimulate discussion among researchers from these different disciplines.
