Nonlinear Control Systems.

Abstract

The ability to systematically control dominant nonlinear effects in the evolution of complex dynamical systems is an important research goal, with applications in several existing and emerging DOD research and development programs. The research we describe here is aimed at the development of a control methodology for lumped and distributed parameter systems, similar in scope and applicability to classical automatic control design for lumped linear systems. This program is aimed at the systematic development of feedback design methodologies for shaping, or at least influencing, the response of a broad class of nonlinear systems. (AN)
