Tools of Management for Base Commanders,

Abstract

The magnitude and scope of the resources entrusted to the Base Commander in the Air Force are so large and diversified that it is physically impossible for him to devote the amount of personal supervision to each segment that the public investment would seem to warrant. Accordingly, management tools have been provided to assist Commanders in this effort. In the event Base Commanders fail to use these management tools immediately, or in the near future, the aims of maintaining a military posture capable of deterring war, or insuring victory if war comes (at a price the United States can afford to pay) will be jeopardized.
