The Mechanics of Bent Yarns.

Abstract

It is the purpose of this report to formalize the elements of bent yarn geometry through careful analysis of an idealized yarn structure. The products of such an analysis are expressed in mathematical relationships presented in a form most useful to the textile materials engineer. To encourage use of the results by practical designers, an effort has been made to present conplete graphical conversions from practical textile data to the dimensionless parameters utilized for maximum generality in the analysis.
