Contaminants In Fish And Game Animals On Rocky Mountain Arsenal, 1977-1982.

Abstract

A Biological Monitoring Program was begun on Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA) in 1977. Phase I of this program was a screening study to determine the general extent of contaminants in the Biota. Some of the results of this study indicated that the fish and game animals on RMA were taking up contaminants. Since the screening study in 1977, the fish and small game animals have been sampled annually to monitor their status of contamination. The tables present the results of these studied to date. Samples of off-post game birds for comparison with RMA birds were taken in 1980, 1981, and 1982. Those for 1980 and 1981 are designated as 'controls' in the table. Sampling locations were selected rather than randomized. -BKA
