Laser Beam Aerosol Interactions.

Abstract

This report details experimental investigations undertaken to understand the interactions of aerosol particles with laser beams. Both optical and thermal interactions were examined, including elastic scattering and fluorescence, as well as a variety of nonlinear interactions. A number of new and significant experimental findings we made which are detailed in this report. These findings provide the experimental basis for potential applications in the fields of atmospheric probing, remote sensing, and photonics. jg
