The FRIEND21 Project for the Development of the Next Generation Human Interface,

Abstract

A summary of the '94 FRIEND21 International Symposium on the next generation human/computer interface, conducted Feb. 2-4, 1994 in Tokyo, Japan is presented, along with some background on the six year Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) sponsored FRIEND21 Project. Abstracts of all symposium presentations (except the keynote address) are included. The keynote address, by Dr. Kochiro Tamura, Deputy Director-General of the Electrotechnical Laboratory, is included in its entirety. Also included are the titles of selected English language background papers from earlier phases of the FRIEND21 project.
