Environmental Effects of Dredging: Economic Valuation of Wetlands.

Abstract

This technical note summarizes the principles and major issues for the economic valuation of wetlands. The valuation information presented here is intended to support the biological assessment of wetland functions and values as set out in the Wetland Evaluation Technique (WET). Subsequent technical notes will present economic valuation methods for specific wetland services, e.g., commercial fisheries. (AN)
