Basin A Neck, Groundwater Intercept and Treatment System, Interim Response Action, Alternatives Assessment, Version 3.2.

Abstract

This interim response action addresses a containment, treatment, and recharge system in the area of Basin A Neck for contaminants that are migrating from below Basin A. Extraction, treatment, and recharge alternatives are reviewed based on feasibility, time to implement, and cost in order to select the most appropriate technologies to meet the objectives of the IRA. The alternatives assessment discusses the following: objectives and assessment criteria for the IRA; hydrology and ground water quality in the Basin A Neck area; hydrogeologic and treatment alternatives for intercepting, treating, and recharging the contaminated ground water; comparison of the various hydrogeologic and treatment alternatives; preferred technology; additional information needed to refine the conceptual design. -BKA
