Environmental Impact Statement: Disposal and Reuse of Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base, Missouri.

Abstract

Richard Gebaurs Air Force Base (AFB) closed in September 1994. A Final Environmental Impact Statement was prepared in accordance of the National Environmental Policy Act to analyze the potential environmental consequences of the disposal and reuse of Richards-Gebaur AFB on the local community, land use, aesthetics, transportation, utilities, hazardous materials/wastes, geology and soils, water resources, air quality noise biological and cultural resources. The Proposed Action and three alternatives center on various mixes of aviation reuse proposals. The No-Action Alternative was a analyzed. Potential environmental impacts for the Proposed Action and alternatives would include erosion effects during construction, increased air pollutant emission, and possible adverse effects to biological and cultural resources.
