Applications of Organic and Polymer Nonlinear Optical Materials in Optics Computations.

Abstract

Organic and polymer nonlinear optical materials have good properties in optics, structure, and mechanics. At present, such materials are undergoing rapid development. This article emphasizes presenting some typical organic and polymer nonlinear optical materials, describes the optical bistability devices, optical power restraining units, spatial optical modulators, and optical waveguides fabricated from these materials. By comparing the organic crystals and semiconductor devices of the same categories, the article reports on the potential priorities and application prospects in the field of optics computations by using these organic and polymer nonlinear materials.
