Computer Interface Development for the Petite Amateur Navy Satellite (PANSAT) Simulator.

Abstract

This thesis describes the development of personal computer interfaces for the Digital Control Subsystem (DCS) and Electrical Power System (EPS) of the Naval Postgraduate School's Petite Amateur Navy Satellite Simulator project. The work includes a brief description of related PANSAT and PANSAT simulator subsystems. The laboratory activity that provided the information for this work, namely, programming in the LabVIEW software programs G graphical programming language, involved the generation of programming code for controlling and reading data from the simulators component subsystems. Where appropriate, there is limited discussion of key satellite and simulator component designs and installations. Through the use of documentation and illustrative figures, the programming and display components of the interfaces are shown to be functional in the simulator environment. Instructions for making anticipated design accommodations are included.
