United States Naval Cooperation with Canada.
Abstract
This paper explores the development and future of naval cooperation between the United States and Canada. Long-time neighbors, friends, and allies, both nations are in a period of reflection on national defense and foreign policy priorities as a result of the end of the Cold War. The challenge is to define a road map for naval cooperation that meets the common needs of both nations. To accomplish this goal, an understanding of the development of the naval relationship between the nations must be established, the current political-military climate reviewed, and then the way ahead proposed. This paper offers some suggestions. (AN)
