Abstract

Based on the literature review, electrochemical precipitation and activated alumina adsorption were judged to be the most promising technologies for interim treatment of wastewater in Sump 1727. Sections of the report discuss the following: (1) Raw water characteristics; (2) proposed treatment levels for discharge to the RMA sanitary sewer; (3) treatability test methods that were used to evaluate the two technologies; (4) results of the tests; (5) selection of alumina as the preferred treatment; (6) conceptual design; and (7) costs. jg
