Research and Development of the P-Version of the Finite Element Method.

Abstract

The research accomplishments in this project include: parallel implementation of the p-version, development of multi-p methods and multi-p conditioning, study of the conditioning of global stiffness matrices, investigation of the problem of model selection, numerical analysis of material interface singularities in two dimensions, and extraction of generalized stress intensity factors using the principle of complementary energy.
