Optical Phase Conjugation, Beam Coupling, and Effects of Color Centers in Photorefractive Crystals.

Abstract

This effort was a research program to investigate the (coherent and incoherent) nonlinear optical properties as a function of color centers. The investigation included multiwave mixing (four wave mixing and phase conjugation), spectral, and electron paramagnetic resonance properties of gamma-ray induced color centers. Investigations on BaTiO3 include EPR measurement parametric dependence of energy transfer for two coherent beams, influence of Fe and Cu impurities on the origin of photorefractive effects, resonance phase conjugation, and other beam coupling. SBN and BSO were studied. (MM)
