Magnetic and Electrical Properties of the Substitution Series in Ce2Ni(2x)Pd2(1-x)In.

Abstract

The magnetic susceptibility and the electrical resistivity of Ce2Ni(2x)Pd2(1-x)In are studied for x=0.0 to 1.0. The magnetic properties change continuously from the ferromagnetic Ce2Pd2In with a Tc near 4K to the temperature independent paramagnetic Ce2Ni2In. The electrical resistivity varies systematically from hysteretic in the brittle Ce2Pd2In to simple metal-like in Ce2Ni2In. The property changes are discussed in terms of lattice and concentration effects. jg
