Personal and Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment (OCIE) on the Battlefield. Resource Requirement Analysis.

Abstract

This resource requirement analysis identified those items of personal clothing and I organizational clothing and individual equipment (OCIE) which are the minimum essential items for the soldier on the battlefield. Based upon the Common Table of Allowances (CTA) 50-900 and several Supply Bulletins (SB), lists were developed fpr desert, tropical, temperate, and arctic environments. Using additional SB and data from the Defense Personnel Supply Center (DPSC), estimates of the cost of thirty days of supply (personal & OCIE) were developed for a notional heavy division. In addition , estimates of cost, weight, and volume for thirty days of supply were developed for a complement of 1000 soldiers. This report was used as an attachment to a concept paper prepared by CASCOM for supplying the soldier on the battlefield.
