Nocturnal Low Level Jet Influences on Mesoscale Convective Complex (MCC) Development,

Abstract

The intent of this paper is to define what Mesoscale Convective Complexes(MCC) are and discuss their 3-Dimensional structure (Sections I & II). In section III the structure and origin of the Great Plains Nocturnal Low Level Jet will he discussed. How this nocturnal low level jet interacts with MCC's will also be addressed (Section IV). Finally, a summary of the main points will be provided along with several ideas for future areas of study. The goal is to summarize as completely as possible the current state of understanding of MCC's and their interactions with low level jets.
