The Effects of a Scale-Down in Defense Budgets. Volume 3. The Kiel Report.

Abstract

This research effort that has lead to the completion of this report has at its core a number of interrelated goals: (1) To develop a more comprehensive view of the research methodology or methodologies that might provide better insight into the organization and operations, (2) Using a specific weapon system as a "test bank', to gain an initial understanding of some of the effects of the continuing reductions both U.S. and German defense budgets on their respective defense industrial "robust" than that of the U.S., and the underlying reasons for these observed differences, and (4) As a far broader mandate, to develop a better understanding of the organization and operations of the German economy and, in particular, its industrial sector.
