Femtosecond Photonics: Fundamental Phenomena and Device Behavior.

Abstract

This report is comprised of brief summaries of work accomplished on a number of topics related to femtosecond photonics. It describes significant progress in the development of new sources of ultrashort pulses, important advances in the understanding of ultrafast semiconductors and fiber optic device behavior, and new insights into fundamental, underlying phenomena in photonic materials.
