Biologically Based Undulatory Lamprey Auv Project.

Abstract

This document serves as the final report for Phase I of this project. The report covers the period from June through December 1994. It includes descriptions of fish biomechanics, kinematic relationships, and neural control concepts. These relationships served as a basis for developing and conducting laboratory experiments aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of creating systems capable of generating smooth undulatory notion similar to that of fish, particularly Lamprey. This report also presents a description of the systems developed, experiments conducted, and the results of these experiments. This work was sponsored by ARPA and ONR under grant number N00014-94-l-1O35.
