A Combined X-ray Scattering and Molecular Modeling Study of Manufacturing Processing of Polymers and Composites.

Abstract

Measurement of the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the crystalline lattice of two semicrystalline thermoplastic polyimides are reported. NEW-TPI and LARC-CPI polyimides were studied using high temperature wide angle X-ray scattering from 25C up to 325C. Systematic shifts in the a-, and b-axis lattice parameters were seen. No c-axis expansion was detected. jg p.1
