Abstract

During the contract period we: (1) Considered connectionist computation, particularly asit has been used for applications in speech recognition, and developed perspectives on machine requiremebts for this task. (2) Analyzed the computational requirements for image understanding tasks, particularly in the context of the developing Arpa Image Understanding Environment.
