Vibration Diagnostics for the Ml Abrams Tank Gas Turbine Engine.

Abstract

A variety of analytical and experimental techniques have been explored to determine the efficacy and viability of application for diagnostics of an Ml tank gas turbine engine. Engine performance criteria along with mechanical maintenance programs have been identified to be used in the turbine engine diagnostics program. Spectrum analysis was chosen as the governing tool in determining engine functionabilities. A proof-in-principle test was performed via spectrum output that clearly illustrated that a signal-rich environment, as provided by the measurements performed in this specific study, is required for engine performance analysis and diagnostics.
