Abstract

The opening year of these next two decades, 1957-1976, in the Ballistic Research Laboratories' history revealed a program that had under- gone little change in content or direction since the Korean conflict. The Director's main concern was the achievement of a proper balance between a program of well-planned long range research and the set of tasks designed to provide immediate solutions or approaches to urgent military needs.
