An Assessment of Technical Reports as a Performance Measure for the Naval Aviation Engineering Service Unit (NAESU).
Abstract
This thesis is an assessment of technical reports as a method for measuring the performance of the Naval Aviation Engineering Services Unit (NAESU). Six technical reports are used to address the primary question asked in this thesis: Do NAESU technical reports provide tangible cost savings through improvements to the reliability and maintainability of aircraft weapons systems. Useful maintenance data pertaining to the items of interest was extracted from the Naval Aviation Logistics Data Analysis (NALDA) system. Cost data was taken from the Aviation Supply Office (ASO) master files. Based on the author's analysis the cost savings from improvements in reliability and maintainability can be determined for each technical report. (AN)
