A Preliminary Investigation into DEOMI Training Effectiveness.

Abstract

This manuscript summarizes several data sources regarding evaluation and performance of recent DEOMI graduates. Although ratings from commanders'/supervisors' evaluations are generally positive, qualitative information regarding future areas for improvement is provided. Achievement of DEOMI trainees on selected EO content tests is also reported, and the majority of trainees demonstrate significant improvement in their knowledge base upon graduation from the Institute. Recommendations are made for more systematic program evaluation within a conceptual model. Specific recommendations are made regarding optimal and pragmatic methods for assessing DEOMI training impact.
