Military Proposals for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific Region.

Abstract

This paper suggests that there are unique opportunities to lay the foundation for future security cooperation in the Asia Pacific Region. Political forums are creating the environment conducive to greater security cooperation. However, lingering Cold War attitudes and outdated operational policies place at risk the military's potential to advance regional security through coalition preparedness.
