Laser Cutting Plastic Materials.

Abstract

The CO2 laser cutting process has proven to be a viable technique for material removal, first in Kevlar/epoxy laminates and now in other plastics and reinforced composite applications. This project is intended to advance and improve the manufacturing capability in plastics machining, based on the successful development of Kevlar/epoxy cutting conducted on a previous project.
