Load-Rate Characteristics of Certain Polyurethane Foams,

Abstract

Three urethane foams were subjected to quasistatic and drop tests to evaluate their mechanical properties under various loading rates. The foam formulations, tests, and data reduction procedures are described and test results are presented and discussed. All of the foams are load-rate sensitive and have large energy absorbing capacities when loaded beyond their yield stresses. (MM)
