A Study of the Stress Wave Factor Technique for Nondestructive Evaluation of Composite Materials.

Abstract

This interim report updates the reported findings under NASA Grant 3-172. Included are descriptions of a novel optical in-plane/out-of-plane displacement sensor, a data acquisition system, an extensive data analysis software package, the azimuthal variation of acousto-ultrasonic behavior in graphite/epoxy laminates, nd preliminary examination of processing variation in graphite/aluminum tubes.
