Clinical Studies of Synthetic Peptide-Containing Pulmonary Surfactant in Patients with Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome.

Abstract

A peptide-containing pulmonary surfactant has been developed, called KL - Surfactant. Assessment of activity and safety has been performed successfully in preterm subhuman primates and in 47 preterm human infants (IND %4O,287). This synthetic surfactant is now being tested in Adult human RDS.
