Abstract

Text prepared by Criminal Law Division, The Judge Advocate General's School, U.S. Army, for the Senior Officer's Legal Orientation (SOLO) course. This text and the references provide background reading and research materials for the course. They also form the basis of the legal instruction presented at the Pre-Command Course conducted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This deskbook may also serve as a convenient source of legal information for the commander in the field and as a guide to understanding the many criminal law problems which confront today's Army commander. The local staff judge advocate should be consulted on any legal problem which arises in the field of criminal law.
