Reflection and Attenuation of Laser Radiation Propagating in Ocean Water,

Abstract

This article discusses questions associated with laser radiation transmission between the atmosphere and sea water. It introduces in detail sea water surface reflection characteristics and laser attenuation in sea water. Finally, it estimates, in accordance with typical parameters associated with current levels, airborne laser sounding capabilities. (AN)
