Design Recovery Technology for Real-Time Systems.

Abstract

Software maintainers typically rely on source code as the only completely reliable source of information on the software for which they are responsible. This process of trying to develop an understanding of the software by manually navigating through the code is extremely time consuming and error prone. This report describes a technology that automatically extracts information from the source code and presents the information in a comprehensible format. Further, the report details the reverse engineering tools and design recovery techniques used to accomplish these goals.
