Mark 20 Category II/III Instrument Landing System Operational Test and Evaluation, Functional and Performance Test Report.

Abstract

This test report documents the results of the Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) Functional and Performance tests conducted on the Category II/III Mark 20 Instrument Landing System (ILS) at the FAA Technical Center, Atlantic City International Airport, Atlantic City, NJ. The Mark 20 ILS modular design is based on a new generation of microprocessors and software. With Remote Maintenance Monitoring (RMM) capability and the concept of "remove and replace" maintenance, it will provide major airway facilities throughout the U.S. with a more reliable and easily maintained system. The report contains the system configuration, test descriptions, test equipment used, data collection and analysis methods, test results, and conclusions. Based on testing performed at the FAA Technical Center, it is recommended that the Mark 20 ILS be accepted for deployment.
