Electromagnetic Measurements of the Ionosphere at the Ionospheric Station of Rome.

Abstract

Continuous ionospheric vertical soundings (every hour, every day) have been performed at the ionospheric station of Rome during the period from August 95 to October 95. The ionospheric station of Rome, one of most ancient in Europe, is usually equipped with a couple of Digisonde Bibi type 128, using sounding frequency range 1-20Mhz and 10KW of power pulse. However, due to the fact that we are moving the station from the peripherical observatory of Rome Monte Porzio to a laboratory in the main building of ING, still in Rome, the sounder used actually is a Barry Research VOS1.
