Global Association. Design Document and User's Manual.

Abstract

This document describes the Global Association System for automatic interpretation of seismic data to associate signals and locate seismic events. This system uses a hybrid method that integrates techniques in generalized beam forming E.G., Ringdal and Kvarna, 1989; Taylor and Leonard, 1992; Leonard, 1993 and expert systems Bache et. el., 1993. It is designed to handle the large volumes of data that are needed to monitor compliance with a Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT).
