Fiber Reinforcement of Polyurethane Foam.

Abstract

The physical properties of both rigid and flexible urethane foams as a function of various fiber fillers were investigated. Varying levels of glass, carbon, and wollastonite fibers were added to two urethane foam formulations. The compressive strength, compressive modulus, flexural strength, and tensile strength of these urethane foam systems were determined. (AN)
