Durability of Adhesive Bonds to Uranium Alloys, Tungsten, Tantalum, and Thorium,

Abstract

Long-term durability of epoxy bonds to alloys of uranium, nickel-plated uranium, thorium, tungsten, tantalum, tantalum, tungsten, and aluminum has been evaluated. Significant strengths remain after ten years of aging; however, there is some evidence of bond deterioration with uranium alloys and thorium stored in ambient laboratory air.
