Development of In Situ Stiffness Properties for Shuttle Booster Filament Wound Case

Abstract

Subscale tests were extensively used to develop a data base on elastic properties of graphite-epoxy wound pressure vessels. Scaling phenomena were observed to influence biaxial strains. Causes for scaling are proposed and lamina models with scaling factors are presented. (MM)
