Confined Two-Phase Incompressible Flows,

Abstract

This paper reports that the variable density, incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved using a technique based upon the Marker-and-Cell (MAC) method. The flow equations have been supplemented with the level set approach for interface tracking, and the required modifications to the MAC method are presented. This formulation has been used to solve several example problems, for closed containers, involving single and two-phase flows, various boundary conditions and several types of wall motion. (AN)
