Review of the CLDSIM Cloud Radiance Simulator.

Abstract

Visidyne has conducted an independent review of CLDSIM, a cloud model resident in the SSGM code. CLDSIM simulates cloud background, a major source of clutter for IR sensors viewing from space. An evaluation of CLDSIM, along with recommendations for possible improvement are presented. (The version of CLDSIM reviewed corresponds to that in the SSGM Release 5.1).
