Thermal Spot Tracking, Folding FFT Modification For Laser Propagation In Turbulent Atmosphere, and Beam Transformation Optics. Selected Articles.

Abstract

The traditional method of numerical simulations for laser beam propagation in the turbulent atmosphere is modified. A folding FFT treatment is put forward. High spatial frequency terms of the turbulent spectrum are sampled and low spatial frequency terms are revised using this treatment. Numerical simulation results show that the calculation speed and accuracy are both enhanced and the required computer memory is reduced. Also the numerical results reflect the real properties of strong and weak effects of the atmospheric turbulence.
