Advanced Simulator Insulator Program, Second Annual Report.

Abstract

This report summarizes the work performed during the second year of the Advanced Simulator Insulator Development Program. We developed a dendrite resistant insulator coating that does not chip like the Limitrak coating presently used. The coating material has an impact resistance 80 times larger than Limitrak. It has a dc vacuum surface flashover resistance 27% greater than Limitrak, and dendrite resistance that is larger as well. We also made urethane envelopes for the DECADE Module 1 output switches. We will be testing these during the next year.
