Nuclear-Weapon Free Zone Proposals: Strategic Implications for the United States.

Abstract

This study examines how the two existing nuclear weapon free zones (NWFZ), one in Latin America and the other in the South Pacific, have affected US strategic interests in the regions. It also considers the possibility of the establishment of NWFZs in other regions, including Scandinavia, the Balkans, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
