Hypersonic Experimental and Computational Capability, Improvement and Validation. Volume 1 (l'Hypersonique experimentale et de calcul - capacite amelioration et validation). Volume 1,

Abstract

The results of the phase I effort conducted under AGARD Working Group 18 on Hypersonic Experimental and Computational Capability, Improvement and Validation are presented in this report. A discussion of issues and problems classified into seven topic areas precedes the individual sections on Shock/Boundary-Layer Interactions, Laminar-Turbulent Transition, Rarefield Flow, Real-Gas Effects, Facility Calibration Procedures, Extrapolation to Flight and Hypersonic Test Facilities. Recommendations for future work in these areas is included at the end of each section. Conclusions for the work conducted during the phase II of this Working Group will be presented in Volume II.
