Abstract

Scientific and technical information (STI) is an integral part of research and development (R&D). Its effective management and use play a vital role in all phases of the innovation process: education; basic research; applied R&D; product development and manufacturing and application of science and technology to meet needs in commercial, not-for-profit, and governmental markets.
