Frequency Discriminating EM Field Sensor Having All Optical Interconnects.

Abstract

This report describes the investigation into the feasibility of a wide bandwidth, frequency discriminating electromagnetic field sensor utilizing all optical interconnects. The sensor would be physically small with a sensitivity of 1 millivolt/meter, or better. The study included the evaluation of various RF to optical signal conversion techniques/laser diodes and their supporting hardware, and physically small, wide bandwidth antennas.
